W.R. Smith writes, "School assembly can serve as focusing centre of all forms of extra-curricular life." The college starts with morning assembly
everyday to invoke the blessings of Deity. Morning assembly makes it possible to imbibe cooperative and acceptable behaviour patrons. Students and
teachers get an opportunity to give brief talks on Education, Religion and Morality. An open discussion is held.
Presence of all the staff members and
students is compulsory. Absentees will be fined heavily. Every Monday paper presentation is done by the faculty.
1. Immediately on joining the college, the students should get the following uniform prepared
For Girls : Lemon coloured Shirt, Salwar, Duppata and Blue-Black Sweater (For winter). Wearing of White sports shoes everyday is compulsory.
For Boys : Lemon coloured Shirt, Blue-Black coloured trouser, Turban and Blue-Black Sweater (For winter).
Wearing of white sports shoes everyday is compulsory.
2. Navy Blue track suit is compulsory to be worn for sports activities.
3. The uniform is worn once in a week on every Thursday, First working day of the month and college functions / celebration.
4. Length of shirt for Girls must be at knee length. Girls are not allowed to wear legging or pajamis in the college and boys are prohibited to wear T-shirts
The motive of having "House" is to give opportunities to students for self expression, inculcate leadership qualities in students so as to help them to takeup the responsibilities, understand the concept of co-operation and team spirit. The students from all sections are divided into four houses. The main duties of each house are :-
1. To Conduct daily Morning Assembly.In order to give practical training in organizing of various Co-curicular activities and develop a sense of responsibility among the prospective teachers, six clubs are formed. Clubs provide opportunities for the development of students abilities. Clubs furnish a constructive use of leisure time. Clubs are formed in order to enhance organizational ability and managerial skill of the student. Co-curricular activities and programme are organised to give practical training and develop a sense of responsibility among prospective teachers. Our clubs are :
1.ENVIRONMENTAL CLUBExtension lectures by eminent persons are arranged time to time in various areas of education. These help the students to develop insight into the subject and get latest information and knowledge about the subject area.
To establish a rapport and two way communication amongst students and members of the faculty, students are divided into small tutorial groups. It helps closer supervision of the work and progress of the students by the lecture-incharge. Presence of students in these meetings is compulsory.
Monthly seminars/Symposium are organised for informal discussion on the current issues and topics related with the curriculum.
An issue of the college magazine will be brought out in the month of May with various sections : Punjabi, Hindi, English. Articles of outstanding merit may be rewarded with a prize.
Continuous assessment and evaluation of students are done throughout the year by faculty. At the end of the session prizes are given to the students in academic and non- academic areas. ACADEMIC PRIZES are awarded on the basis of marks obtained in the B.Ed. University Examination to a student who passes in all the subjects in the house examinations held by the college during the session.
(a) Students securing first three positions in theory papers of the university and in the House Examinations.A numder of scholarship are given to the students. The information regarding these scholarship is provided to the student through the
college notice board.
A. State Merit scholarship is awarded by Punjab Govt. to the meritorious student.
B. Post Matric scholarship awarded by the Punjab Govt. are available to the students who fulfil the required conditions
C. A number of scholarship donated by philanthropists are given to the poor and intelligent student in addition to the above.
